HookFeed Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is incorporated into and forms part of the HookFeed Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this AUP, you must stop using the Service immediately.
HookFeed provides a webhook visibility platform that helps non-technical users see what's happening across their apps and workflows. Our customers rely on the Service for real-time visibility, alerts, and dashboards. To ensure continued reliability and trust, everyone must access and use the Service in ways that do not abuse it. This AUP serves as a guide for what we consider abuse.
Security Violations and Network Abuse
Do not access or use the Service directly or indirectly to, or in ways that:
- Disrupt availability — adversely impact the availability of our Service, or those offered by a third party, including by sending excessive or abusive volumes of webhook traffic designed to overload the system.
- Denial of service — create or pose a risk that can result in a denial of service attack on our Service or services of a third party.
- Bypass security or billing systems — bypass or attempt to circumvent use limitations, billing triggers, rate limits, event volume caps, security mechanisms, or safety filters established by HookFeed. This includes testing or reverse-engineering to find limitations or vulnerabilities.
- Create security risks — create a security or service risk to HookFeed, our Service, our infrastructure, or our other customers.
- Malicious attacks — send or facilitate cyber attacks of any kind, including through webhook payloads.
- Credential abuse — share, publish, or otherwise expose webhook URLs, API keys, or shared dashboard links in a manner intended to enable unauthorized access.
- Spyware and unauthorized monitoring — use the Service to create, facilitate, or distribute spyware, or to conduct covert surveillance, persistent tracking, or monitoring of a person without their valid consent or other legal right.
Wrongful Use of the Service
Do not access or use the Service directly or indirectly to, or in ways that:
- Transmit prohibited data — intentionally transmit to HookFeed any data that you do not have the right to transmit, or that is subject to regulatory requirements (such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or equivalent standards) without a separate written agreement with HookFeed specifically covering such data.
- Abuse free tier or anonymous sessions — create multiple accounts, use automated tools to generate excessive anonymous sessions, or otherwise circumvent free tier limits or plan restrictions.
- Competitive use — use the Service, APIs, or data obtained through the Service for the purpose of building a product or service competitive with HookFeed, or for competitive intelligence, benchmarking, or reverse engineering.
- Spamming — use HookFeed's alert, digest, or notification features to generate or send unsolicited messages to recipients who have not consented to receive them, or which are otherwise prohibited under applicable law.
- Intellectual property infringement — violate HookFeed's or any third party's intellectual property rights through your use of the Service.
- Misrepresentation — impersonate other people or businesses, misrepresent the origin of data sent to HookFeed, or create shared dashboards that misrepresent their source or accuracy.
- Compromise privacy — use the Service to violate privacy rights under applicable law, including using HookFeed to collect, aggregate, or expose personal data in a manner that violates applicable data protection laws.
- Circumvent third-party terms — use the Service with the primary purpose of violating or circumventing the terms or restrictions of a third-party service whose webhooks you are sending to HookFeed.
Prohibited Content
Do not access or use the Service to transmit, store, display, or distribute:
- Illegal content — any content that violates applicable laws or regulations, or that facilitates illegal activity.
- Violent or threatening content — content that threatens, incites, plans, or facilitates violent activities intended to cause physical harm to people, animals, or property.
- Exploitation of minors — any content that exploits minors or facilitates child abuse in any form. We report apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
- Hateful content — content that harasses, intimidates, abuses, or discriminates against others based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, disease, or immigration status.
- Malware or harmful code — webhook payloads or other data intentionally crafted to exploit vulnerabilities, inject malicious code, or compromise the security of HookFeed or its users.
AI Feature Usage
When using HookFeed's AI-powered features (such as auto-configuration, event analysis, or view suggestions), you must not:
- Circumvent AI safeguards — attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or bypass safety filters or guardrails in AI-powered features through crafted webhook payloads or other inputs.
- Train models — use outputs from AI features to develop foundation models, large-scale AI models, or training datasets.
- Misrepresent AI outputs — present AI-generated dashboard configurations, insights, or suggestions as verified, audited, or guaranteed analyses for regulatory, legal, or compliance purposes.
Dashboard Sharing and Distribution
When using HookFeed's dashboard sharing, alert, or digest features:
- Do not expose sensitive data — you are responsible for ensuring that shared dashboards, alerts, and digests do not expose data that you are not authorized to share, including personal data, confidential business information, or data belonging to third parties.
- Do not mislead — shared dashboards should accurately represent the data they display. Do not modify, frame, or present shared dashboards in a manner that misrepresents their content or source.
- Respect access controls — do not share dashboard links with individuals who should not have access to the underlying data. Treat shared dashboard URLs as you would any access credential.
Enforcement
If you are using HookFeed in violation of this AUP, we may investigate and take action. Every situation is unique, and we review violations on a case-by-case basis.
- In some cases, we may contact you and request that you fix or otherwise address the violation.
- In others, we may temporarily or permanently suspend or terminate your HookFeed account, with or without notice.
- HookFeed may throttle or block webhook ingestion for accounts that exhibit patterns of abuse.
- HookFeed may report suspected criminal activity to competent authorities and cooperate with investigations consistent with applicable law.
Modifications
HookFeed may modify this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified AUP.
